
Sensex Nifty Closing Bell :Stock Market Update: Sensex Slips 238 Points, Nifty Ends Just Above 25,000; Realty and Media Stocks Outperform
The Indian stock market ended Friday’s session on a subdued note, with key benchmark indices closing marginally lower after a range-bound trading day. The Nifty 50 dipped by 48 points or 0.19% to settle at 25,013, while the BSE Sensex declined by 238 points or 0.29%, ending the session at 82,292.96.
In tandem with the broader sentiment, the Nifty Bank index also ended in the red, slipping 5 points or 0.01% to close at 55,350.80.
However, the broader markets outperformed the frontline indices, with small- and mid-cap stocks posting notable gains. The BSE Smallcap index rose by 595.27 points or 1.18% to finish at 51,045.74, while the BSE Midcap index climbed 380.29 points or 0.85%, ending the day at 45,005.84.
On a weekly basis, the Nifty posted a gain of 1.7%, whereas the Sensex advanced by 0.6%, reflecting overall positive momentum through the week.

Both Sensex and Nifty ended lower amid lackluster cues from global and domestic markets. During intraday trade, the Nifty 50 slipped up to 0.5%, while the Sensex was down as much as 0.4% before paring some losses.

Among the Nifty 50 constituents, Bharat Electronics emerged as the top gainer, ending the day 3.82% higher. Other major gainers included Tata Consumer Products, Bajaj Auto, Adani Enterprises, and Hindustan Unilever.
