India Uses S-400 to Destroy Pakistani Missiles and Drones in 15 Cities | Full Report
In a significant defense maneuver, India successfully intercepted a major Pakistani offensive aimed at multiple military installations between May 7 and 8, according to information shared by the Ministry of Defence. The attacks were reportedly neutralized using advanced Indian air defense capabilities. In a swift retaliation, Indian forces targeted and disabled an air defense system located in Lahore.
As per the official statement released on May 8, Pakistan had launched drones and missiles with the intention of striking several military zones across Northern and Western India. The Indian Air Defence, particularly the Integrated Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Grid, played a key role in intercepting these threats.
“During the night of May 7–8, 2025, Pakistan made an attempt to engage several military locations within Indian territory including Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj using drones and missiles. These aerial threats were effectively countered by our Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems. Recovery of debris from various locations confirms the scale of Pakistan’s attempted strike,” the statement said.
It is reported that India deployed the S-400 air defense system during the incident—potentially marking its first operational use in this context. The Indian Armed Forces promptly retaliated with equivalent force. A defense installation in Lahore was among the targets hit during this response.
“In the early hours today, Indian Armed Forces launched precision strikes on air defense radars and systems at multiple sites inside Pakistan. One such system in Lahore has reportedly been neutralized. India’s response was proportional and within the same strategic space as the initial attack,” the Ministry further stated.
Additionally, the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) saw a major escalation as Pakistan intensified shelling activities using mortars and heavy artillery in regions such as Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. This led to tragic civilian casualties.
“Sixteen civilians, including three women and five children, lost their lives due to the unprovoked firing. India was compelled to respond firmly in order to halt Pakistan’s artillery assault. While India remains committed to avoiding escalation, this stance is dependent on reciprocal respect from the Pakistani military,” the statement concluded.
